Holme Cultram Abbey
Holme Cultram Abbey, Abbeytown, Cumbria
Founded in 1150 by Cistercians, only part of the nave of a vast Abbey survives today. Damaged by fire in 2006, David has been the project architect for the restoration and reordering. Having carefully progressed through the approvals needed, we are currently overseeing a major re-ordering of the interior; digging within a scheduled monument to install a new stone floor and ground source driven underfloor heating with boreholes in the churchyard.
