Fylingdales - Old Saint Stephen
A project for the Churches Conservation Trust to the church's bell cupola. The cupola's timber support posts had rotted where they pass through the roof and the cupola was in a dangerous state as a result. Working with an accredited structural engineer we improved the detailing so that the junction was better made and hopefully will last rather longer. We also overhauled gutters and drainage and repaired and redecorated the large sash windows.
This Georgian church, with its original interior, is in a really fantastic setting overlooking the Robin Hoods Bay. Often rather exposed though!
